Potomac e-Scrap LLC is proud to announce we have achieved R2:2013 and RIOS certifications!
We have successfully upgraded our certifications to include the latest revisions of R2:2013 (“Responsible Recycling Practices”) and RIOS (the “Recycling Industry Operating Standard”) to further demonstrate our leadership in the electronics recycling industry and our deep commitment to safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible electronics recycling.
The R2:2013 certification standard was developed by a coalition of stakeholders including the U.S. EPA, State Regulators, NGOs, and others. This certification is a noteworthy achievement because it is far more rigorous than other certifications (including the outdated 2008 version of R2) and now includes a 360 degree analysis of business processes to ensure the highest level of quality, health, environmental, safety, and management systems are in place.
These independent certifications required many months of work as well as arduous 3rd party audits of almost every business process – from cradle to grave. We chose to voluntarily become certified to offer our customers additional peace of mind in knowing that we walk our talk. Potomac eScrap LLC Launches New Website
Potomac eScrap LLC is proud to announce the formal launch of our new, redesigned website! Six months in development, the new site represents a fundamental shift in electronics recycling. The new eScrap site is designed to help users identify their electronics as a scrap commodity. The eScrapedia Wiki educates users and in turn helps more electronics be diverted from entering landfills. This education represents a paradigm shift in electronics recycling.
In the past, end of life electronics were categorized as waste that carried a heavy burden and cost. Potomac eScrap’s goal is to prove that burden should not exist and that end of life equipment has a positive return regardless of its condition or age.
